Ten tracks of Afro house, out now on Spotify. The saxophone that has carried so many Sydney wedding moments now has a record of its own.
Orget Sadiku, the Sydney saxophonist known onstage as Orget Sax, has released his debut album, Long Way Home. Ten original tracks built on Afro house rhythm and led by live saxophone, all available on Spotify now.
It is a first for an artist whose working life has been spent in front of a room rather than a screen. Two decades of weddings, launches, yacht decks and stadium stages have trained an instinct for the exact second a crowd turns. Long Way Home puts that instinct on record: warm low end, unhurried percussion, and a saxophone that leads instead of decorating.
Sequenced like an evening. It opens with space, builds through the middle, and closes warm.
A record is not a playlist. But it does answer a question couples ask constantly: what will this actually sound like in the room? Hearing ten finished tracks tells you more about tone, taste and restraint than any showreel can.
The album also gives couples new material to borrow from. A quiet track for arrivals while guests find their seats. Something with a pulse for the entrance. A slower groove over dinner, when the room needs warmth rather than volume. If a song from the record becomes your moment, Orget can play it live on the night.
